Well, had some good news today. The ankle is completely healed and no new fractures. He said the pain is from hitting it at the top of the plate and probably the blood thinners. Only have to wear the boot while riding or lifting heavy weights. Woohoo!

On the down note, he said with the clots i had it would be a miracle if i was off the thinners in less than 6 months. Evidently they have me a lil thin. Got a bloody nose this morning and it looked like a murder scene in 30 seconds. Had to hop in the shower till it quit... Going in for a re-check tomorrow. Hope it's over soon...

Here's the new summer beastie. With kid 2 ready anytime for her license and kid 1 not far behind, i figured i better get some wheels for me. Not bad for a $300 beater. Just hope the weather turns soon so i can take it for a spin and make sure all is good with it. Trying to get a bike rack i picked up from a buddy to fit but evidently they changed the crossbars between a 05 and a 99 impreza. They mounts are kinda narrow and i'm nervous that they might pull thru. Anyone have experience with Saris racks? Tech supports says they are all the same...

Ugh, time to go to the store....

Great news on the ankle! I've slipped and almost gone done several times this winter. Need to strengthen muscles and ligaments since they are sore after near falls.

Though it will take six months, at least you can get off the thinners.

We only have the Saris Bones trunk racks, we have Thule for roof and hitch racks. I will ask our rack guys if they have answers about Saris but six years probably spans at least one model redesign.

Glad to hear you are on the mend!
Nice car, especially for $300. What did you have to do to it? I remember you said the motor was bad.

If all goes well, fingers crossed. Really hoping i get off them in March when they do the ultrasounds.

I hope Saris can figure something out. I don't really want to spend alot to put a rack on this thing.

I got lucky and no valve damage on the subie. Just took a timing belt, tune up and some gaskets to fix a couple leaks. Still need tires and few other things but i want to drive it a bit before i toss money at it...

That's great news that your ankle is finally healed! Hopefully we'll see you riding with us sometime soon.

Nice beater car for $300! Now you can begin your new racing career in drifting.

Any chance that a bike will just fit inside that car? Might save you some money that way. My old Ford Probe I had was great because I could just shove my Fisher in without taking the wheels off. Easy in, easy out!

the bike will fit in the car no problem. I was thinking on days when i am doing trail work, i can cram the car full of tools and have the bike up top. Might also need it on days when the kiddo wants to go with too...

I wish we could ride... No riding outside till i'm off the thinners. With the way the weather is going, i may be off before the snow melts anyway...
